AMD surprised everyone today when it announced AMD's third generation 7nm-based Ryzen 3000 CPUs at the Computex 2019. The announcement came several hours after Intel pre-announced ahead of its keynote event its new Intel Core i9- 9900 KS. Interestingly, the powerful Ryzen CPUs from AMD are available at half the price of its targeted Intel product, the Intel Core i9-9920X.
Earlier today, AMD CEO Liza Su introduced at Computex 2019 AMD's third generation 7nm-based Ryzen 3000 CPUs. This new product series is the first-ever 7 nanometer desktop chips. The feather in AMD's cap is the 12-core, 24 threads Ryzen 9 3900X that is priced at only $499. While some are wondering what could be the big deal about this, the Ryzen 9 3900X is positioned to counter Intel's 12-core i9-9920X, which is priced at $1,189.
AMD is not finished landing blows at Intel. To make the matter even more interesting, the American semiconductor company boasts that AMD's third-generation 7nm-based Ryzen 3000 CPUs are designed with 105W thermal design power or TDP. This means that it is far efficient in terms of power consumption compared to the power-hungry 165W TDP of Intel.
All of the products included in AMD's third-generation 7nm-based Ryzen 3000 CPUs will have the Zen 2 architecture. This is a design based on the chipset that offers 15 percent performance enhancement across all applications. The third generation 7nm-based Ryzen 3000 CPUs crowning glory, which is the Ryzen 3900X, features a base speed of 3.68 GHz and a boost speed of 4.6 GHz with a total cache of 70MB.
According to AMD, it beats its competitor's chip in Blender rendering by 16 percent. And, if you want to find the counterpart of the Intel's fastest consumer desktop chip, which is the Intel Core i9-9900X, AMD has a product to match it. The company prides its Ryzen 7 3800X with 8 cores, 16 threads with a base clock speed of 3.9 GHz and a boost speed of 4.5 GHz available at only $399. It is also included in the AMD's third-generation 7nm-based Ryzen 3000 CPUs.
Another interesting product included in AMD's third-generation 7nm-based Ryzen 3000 CPUs is the AMD Ryzen 3700X. It is an 8-core chips that offers greater efficiency than its siblings. It features a 65W TDP and it is 15 percent faster than the 2700X product series based on the Cinebench R20 set, says AMD.
The latest product series introduced in AMD's third-generation 7nm-based Ryzen 3000 CPUs is a delight to many gamers.
