Melania Trump came home from her trip to Japan with the President, sporting a Meghan-Markle-reminiscent Calvin Klein frock.
The chic navy outfit was priced at £998 on Farfetch, an online retail platform that sells luxury fashion products from hundreds of worldwide boutiques and brands. Melania's dress was in a style and color that the former Suits actress had worn now and again.
The sleeveless number had a "fit-and-flare" cut, something along the lines of what Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, would likely be partial to. The California native has been seen wearing the color for several times over the years, with one particular occasion standing out.
The Duchess of Sussex was pictured in the past, specifically on the eve of her marriage to Prince Harry, in the same such hue. The 37-year-old Royal had worn a Roland Mouret which was a navy Barwick off-shoulder ensemble, as she headed for the Cliveden House Hotel with her mother, Doria.
Although Melania has not shown any partiality to wearing the color, she has several times been seen channeling Markle's style in the past. The First Lady even shows some partiality to a certain luxury designer brand of shoes that Markle has admitted to being a favorite.
Likewise, the Royal has stepped out in public before sporting a look that Melania has also worn in the past. Back in February, when the Duchess of Sussex attended a performance of "The Wider Earth" at London's Natural History Museum, she had worn a white turtleneck dress by Calvin Klein with a cream-colored Amanda Wakely coat.
The price tag for the outfit came up to £3,514.96, the maxi dress being £1,473.27 and the coat costing £922.73. It would appear that the First Lady and the Duchess of Sussex have the same expensive tastes and a proclivity for high fashion.
That get-up very closely resembled Melania's powder blue attire with a high neck which she showed up in at her husband's, United States President Donald Trump's, inauguration way back in 2016. That suit had come from Ralph Lauren's collection. Her look then had been pointed out as reminiscent of a style worn by another first lady, Jacqueline Kennedy.
Being a former model, Melania has been closely followed by fans for her chic style and fashion sense. Her designer wardrobe has made her a regular subject to write about, much more so for the thousands of dollars, she racks up for pieces she mostly wears only once.
During her recent trip to Japan alone, she was said to have spent some $20,000 for her dazzling four-day vogueing around Tokyo. Before she even left the country, she made a sensation wearing a Calvin Klein postcard-print dress which cost $3,900. She wore that for her flight to Japan and had not changed out of it after a sixteen-hour-long plane trip.
Melania had dazzled while she was in East Asia, changing outfits twice a day almost every day while she was in the Japanese capital. Besides clothes, she also has a taste for designer shoes, especially Christian Louboutin stilettos, incidentally, also the Duchess of Sussex's favorite brand of high-end footwear.
