Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle will likely be at the Trooping the Colour this Saturday, June 8, to mark the Queen's birthday. Royal watchers believe she will make her first public appearance on this occasion after giving birth to first-born son Archie Harrison.

There are huge expectations for Duchess Meghan to be present because her sister-in-law, Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, was on the event in the previous years after giving birth to her children. It is believed that Duchess Meghan will follow in the lead of Duchess Kate even if she's still on maternity leave.

"I think Meghan's next public appearance will be at Trooping of the Colour because that is an absolutely key royal event," royal watcher Richard Fitzgerald said, per Daily Express. "I imagine she won't miss appearing on the balcony with Harry and all the other members of the Royal Family."

Last year, Duchess Meghan was at the event with the rest of the Royal Family. This came after a month of her wedding to Prince Harry and she graciously took her spot as the Royal Family stood on the Buckingham Palace balcony, per Marie Claire.

Trooping the Colour is a long-standing family tradition. Dating back to 1748, King George II established the yearly military march every summer, with its ideal weather, to mark his birthday though he was born in October. Since then, reigning monarchs have done the tradition.

Queen Elizabeth already celebrated her birthday in April. However, she will mark her "official" birthday celebration with this parade this weekend. She will be inspecting her troops by riding to them on a carriage.

An integral part of the Trooping the Colour event is the Royal Family balcony appearance. This is the only time that the large family, including the Queen's cousins and their descendants, will gather in public together. In previous years, at least 40 members of the Royal Family were on the balcony for the Trooping the Colour.

Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry's son, Archie, however, won't be expected at the event since he is still too young to appreciate what is going on. He'll likely be at next year's birthday parade and balcony appearance.

Duchess Kate and Prince William's third child, Prince Louis, will be at the Trooping the Colour for the first time this year. And just like his older siblings, the young prince will likely be in awe of the beautiful air force exhibition and display.
