Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have picked out a nanny for their baby, Archie Harrison, six weeks after his birth. The nanny's arrival comes at an important period with the Duchess of Sussex preparing to return to her duties and the Duke of Sussex's full schedule this summer.
The identity of Archie's new nanny has been kept from the public, per royal reporter Omid Scobia via Harper's Bazaar. It's understood, however, that the nanny is British-born, who will not be staying in at Prince Harry and Meghan's home in Frogmore Cottage. Archie's nanny will also not be working during the weekends.
Additional sources told Entertainment Tonight that Prince Harry and Meghan asked the nanny to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). Archie's nanny may also likely join the Sussex royals on their scheduled trip to Africa this October as it is believed that Archie will be going with his parents on this two-week trip. However, Buckingham Palace has not made any comments on this upcoming trip until the plans are settled by July.
Prince Harry and Meghan's arrangement with the nanny is quite different from Prince William and Kate Middleton, whose nanny Maria Teresa Borrallo, lives with the family. Long-time royal correspondent Charles Rae told InStyle that royal nannies are usually stay-at-homes who help the household 24/7.
But even as the new nanny is not full-time, she will be of great help to the Sussex royals during the day. Apparently, Meghan hasn't been getting enough sleep at night because Archie is quite the hungry baby. The duchess has also been night nursing and feeding the baby on demand.
This could explain why Meghan looked quite tired and weary when she had her first post-birth public outing during the Trooping the Colours event to celebrate the Queen's birthday. Some observers apparently criticized the duchess' appearance and weight gain.
However, Meghan has been too focused on caring for Archie that she hasn't had time to get back to her workouts, per royal correspondent Katie Nicholl. The royal reporter also said that the duchess is not in a hurry to get back into shape as she has been enjoying her time with her newborn baby boy.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan are also planning the baptism for Archie Harrison. Royal observers note that the baby could be christened within six months after his birth but this special event will likely be done in a private ceremony this summer.
