Being a part of the Star Wars Universe is a true privilege for any actor. After all, being able to wield a lightsaber is just one of the perks of the job. Not surprisingly, Samuel L. Jackson has once again expressed interest in reprising his role as Mace Wihdu in a future Star Wars movie. In fact, the Spider-Man: Far From Home star offered an explanation on how the Jedi Master may have escaped certain death in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.
Samuel L. Jackson has always been vocal about wanting to bring back Mace Windu in a Star Wars movie. The Avengers: Endgame star had repeatedly insisted that the Jedi Master's story still needs to be explored. Although it has been several years since Mace was killed off in Revenge of the Sith, Jackson continues to campaign for the character's return. In fact, he has admitted that Mace is the one character he would like to play again in a new movie soon.
The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard star was recently a guest on The Late Late Show with Stephen Colbert where the host asked him if there was any character Jackson would like to go back to that he hasn't had the chance to do. Jackson didn't even stop to think about that one. He immediately stated that he would like to get "one more run at Mace Windu in Star Wars." Amazingly, Jackson even prepared an explanation on how Mace would have survived certain death.
"There's a long history of one-handed guys that were Jedi that have lightsabers that still make it," Jackson told the skeptical Colbert. When the host questioned how Mace Windu could possibly survive after falling out a window, Jackson simply stated that "Jedi can fall from incredible heights and not die, like cats." It looks like the Shaft actor is certainly determined to make Mace's survival canon and is eager to revisit the role as soon as possible.
Samuel L. Jackson first played Mace Windu in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace although he only had a small role in the film. Fans finally got to see Mace in action in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones before he faced Emperor Sheev Palpatine in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. Although Mace almost defeated the Sith Lord, the villain somehow persuaded Anakin Skywalker to attack Mace and cut off his arm. The Emperor then used Force lightning to throw Mace out of the window.
