This year's NBA Draft class is composed of some of the most impressive rookies. While the top picks on the draft are sure to be great players, there is a handful of them that slipped the scout reports of many teams.
While these are just projections, it is important to note that a draft pick can significantly change an organizations future. Such was the case for some of the legendary draft picks that had an extreme impact going into the league.
This is a list of three players that have huge prospects but slipped below the top 10 draft picks of many scouts.
Brandon Clarke
Brandon Clarke is easily one of the best defenders in this draft class. Despite having an unremarkable height of 6'8" as a forward, he has shown great physicality and athleticism during his time at San Jose State and Gonzaga. His wingspan is also relatively short compared to the average in his position, but he compensates this with great instincts and timing when in the defensive end. During his tenure at Gonzaga, he averaged 4.5 blocks and 1.7 steals per game. Whether he can bring this tenacity into the NBA is still to be known, but he can definitely prove his worth on the block.
Bol Bol
Son of the legendary Manute Bol, the highest player to grace the NBA, Bol Bol stands at a towering 7'2". It is true that his physique is too skinny for the NBA, but he has a wide arsenal of defensive and offensive maneuvers to compensate for that. First, he moves like a highflyer, which is relatively rare for a man of his height. He can shoot down the range and can impose his height on defense as well. His strength might be his biggest challenge coming into the NBA. That and his enduring susceptibility to injuries. Nevertheless, he is still a great prospect.
Goga Bitadze
Goga Bitadze hails from Georgia and plays for the Serbian League. He might not be a powerhouse, but he has been taking quite a lot of attention lately. He is billed as having the same playing style as that of Nikola Jokic. Standing at 6'11" at 245 pounds, he could be a dominant force on the paint. With a league that focuses heavily on spacing, Bitadze also has an impressive clip when shooting from far. During his last season at the EuroLeague, he shot 31.3 percent. He is expected to be drafted by either the Indiana Pacers or the San Antonio Spurs. Should he land with the Spurs, he will be in great hands as the organization is known for honing talents outside of the United States.
