Blake Shelton celebrated his 43rd birthday earlier this month, and his girlfriend, Gwen Stefani, did not disappoint with both the planning of the celebration and the sweet handmade gift she got her birthday celebrant boyfriend.

Stefani put together a really special and intimate pizza party with a few of her and Shelton's closest friends and family. They all gathered at her place for the low-key, yet fun celebration.

Shelton recently told reporters during a music event he was attending the story of how the pizza party came to be. Apparently, while being over at his girlfriend's place, Stefani had grilled him with questions about how he wanted to celebrate his day and what gifts he had in mind. To which Shelton replied, there was a brick oven outside Stefani's home.

He also sheepishly added that neither of them knew how to make pizza nor operate the old-fashioned brick oven and said it was either frozen pizza that they would have for the party or a large order from Pizza Hut. But they thankfully remembered having some connections to a friend who owned a pizza place in town. They called him up and had him come over to make it a memorable pizza party night.

Shelton claimed he was showered with so much love and varying presents from his beloved guests and was grateful for their company on his special day. However, the most heartwarming present he got was from his own girl. Stefani had gifted him with a handmade welcome to the ranch sign that he said he loved dearly, and immediately put it up in his own home.

Aside from that, the The Voice judge and coach received a round of sweet cards from Stefani's three sons who she shared with her ex-husband and songwriter, Gavin Rossdale. Kingston, 13, Zuma, 10, and Apollo, 5, all sat down the day before Shelton's birthday to each make him personalized cards for his day.

According to sources, Stefani's boys do this pretty often and for all occasions. They have given Shelton dozens of these handcrafted cards of theirs for Christmas, New Years, and other holidays.

Stefani is sure in the running towards becoming the world's best girlfriend. Moreover, she will soon be working beside her beau as she joins the set of The Voice in its upcoming season. Stefani will be replacing Adam Levine who was a coach and judge of the show for the preceding 16 seasons.

Shelton expresses how much he will miss having Levine in one of those spinning chairs beside him, but also jokes about being glad he will be replaced by Stefani, who he teased is much more good-looking than Levine.
