Legendary video game designer Hideo Kojima has been teasing us with several images of its highly anticipated game Death Stranding. The images he uploaded on Twitter revealed some new equipment for the game's protagonist, Sam.

While working on testings, Kojima has made it a habit to take pictures of his computer screen in between breaks. This time, the images he chose to show on Twitter show a lot of different combinations of backpacks and equipment for Sam. It looks like there is going to be a lot of diversity in the way we can equip Sam in the game (a while ago we saw different setups for his spare boots).

You can check out some tweets below. Already, fans on Twitter are hyped.

If you want to know more about Death Stranding, you can take a look at the latest English trailer, the Japanese version with additional footage and a different song, and a recent gallery of beautiful images. Recently Hideo Kojima announced that he would be at San Diego Comic Con together with Danish film Director Nicolas Winding Refn.

The "Death Stranding" refers to the unexplainable events that happen after a series of explosions. Affected areas are suddenly plagued with supernatural creatures that threaten to extinguish all forms of life. Players take on the role of Sam Bridges, who will try and save everyone on the wasteland.

Based on the gameplay section of the official site, you're going to be delivering cargo. "Protect your supplies from wild bandits, and stay safe from the terrifying Beached Things ... or face failing those who depend on you," the site says.

The game focuses on the terrain, which will be marked by obstacles. The goal of the player is to find a safe path through the unworldly creatures that can change the landscape.

Death Stranding will have online functionality, but it won't be typical co-op. It will be asynchronous gameplay instead where players can "send supplies, share safe houses, and walk in the footsteps of fellow couriers to reunite civilization."

One interesting feature of Death Stranding is that Kojima didn't include a typical fail state. If you die, you'll end up in an "upside down realm" in which you have to escape. "Choose your combat methods carefully, as killing your foe is almost never the solution - and every death carries a consequence," the site warns.

Death Stranding is coming to PS4 on November 8, 2019.
