A source close to Song Joong Ki claimed that Song's divorce statement is a warning to Song Hye Kyo, who did not even know the divorce application submission until she found it out from news, Korean media 'Channel A' reported on June 28.
'Channel A' claimed that Song Joong Ki submitted the application for divorce through his lawyer without telling his wife Song Hye Kyo on June 26, "the divorce settlement was filed without letting Song Hye Kyo know beforehand."
The report said Song Hye Kyo learned the news the next day after returning from a photo shoot in Thailand.
Song Joong Ki said earlier this week in his divorce statement, "Rather than lengthening the process by considering each other's faults and deriding each other, I hope to complete the divorce amicably."
"The intentions for this is to warn Song Hye Kyo that if she tries to circulate any lies or rumors about their married life or background information about their divorce, that he would reveal everything." 'Channel A' reported, citing a source close to Song Joong Ji.
The report also revealed that Song Joong Ki's legal reps are negotiating a divorce in a speedy manner without asking Song Hye Kyo for alimony.
The Seoul Family Court might begin the divorce mediation procedure for Song-Song couple in one month, and It's expected the divorce will be finalized in August.
Allkpop reported that an alleged acquaintance claimed the couple had been separated since early May this year. "Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki started their separation in early May. According to our laws, there's a required deliberation period for divorces, and they gave each other time to think by separating for a month since early May. It's just a rumor that they were separated since late 2018."
This acquaintance said Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo did not live at their "newlywed home", purchased by Song Joong Ki. Instead, they lived in Song Hye Kyo's leased home since October of 2017 when they got married.
In the divorce statement, Song Joong Ki also said that he "decided not to go in depth about the mistakes each of us made." This probably means the breakup is not due to one side mistake.
UAA Korea, Song Hye Kyo's management company explained, "The reason was because of their differences in personality. The two were unable to overcome their differences, which led to this decision."
