It seems there's no stopping BLACKPINK mania as Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rose continue to dominate the youtube platform with yet another record. This time, Kill This Love reached 450 million views and has become the fastest Kpop video to reach the milestone.
According to a report by Soompi, BLACKPINK's Kill This Love MV which was uploaded April 4, 2019 reached 450 million views on Sunday, making it the Kpop music video to reach the number at the fastest time. This means that Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rose were able to achieve the record number of streams in less than two months.
This is also a major accomplishment for BLINKs, the BLACKPINK official fandom who tirelessly supported their idols to make it happen. As of July 1, the number of views has increased by almost 4 million, and the number currently stands at 453,787,854 million views.
BLACKPINK's latest videos are not the only ones making waves on the youtube platform because last week, YG Entertainment announced through their Twitter page that the dance practice video for the girls' earlier hit Forever Young has reached a milestone 100 million views.
BLACKPINK also surpassed BTS' record of 205 million streams on Spotify for their global hit Fake Love. BLACKPINK's collaboration with Dua Lipa, Kiss and Make Up charted a whopping 247 million streams on the music platform, making the track the most streamed song from any Kpop act in Spotify history. Adding to the amazing milestone is that Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rose managed to accomplish this feat in the short span of eight months, BT reported.
Meanwhile, BLINKs have recently expressed their displeasure over the lack of security measures for BLACKPINK members when they are out in public and started comparing YG Entertainment's handling of their artists' security to other agencies.
In a report by All Kpop, netizens took to forums to compare snaps of BLACKPINK Lisa's arrival at the Incheon Airport after she attended the Channel Fashion Show in Paris to the arrival of members of TWICE at the same venue. TWICE is signed under JYP Entertainment.
In the photos, fans noticed very light security surrounding the BLACKPINK member which enabled fans to crowd near her as they attempt to take pictures of Lisa's arrival at the airport. This was a far cry from the well organized security detail for members of TWICE, who arrived at the airport an hour later and gave the artists ample protection from any injury that may happen with overexcited fans.
