Ryan Edwards returns home in Teen Mom OG Season 8 Episode 5, but he may not be as excited. Despite the excitement his family is feeling, he is suffering from extreme anxiety after witnessing traumatic incidents in jail while serving his sentence for 90 days.

According to HollywoodLife, Ryan's parents, Larry and Jen Edwards, told the show's producers their son's pal got stabbed 10 times the night before his release. He also saw someone's head bashed in, so he was not in the best of mood when he came home.

Sadly, Ryan's action took its toll on his son, Bentley. Ryan barely interacted with the kid due to his anxiety that made Maci Bookout upset.

Maci and Ryan were first seen on 16 and Pregnant, and then they made their way to Teen Mom OG before they got separated. Ryan was caught possessing heroin that caused him jail time, added with the accusation of theft.

According to TMZ, Ryan didn't pay his $36 bill when he left a bar in 2018. The bartender then called the police, and he got arrested. He was also taken into custody from a previous possession charge from an outstanding warrant.

In the previous Teen Mom OG episode, Ryan's wife, Mackenzie Standifer, was seen preparing for her husband's release. The 22-year-old star believed Ryan would come out a changed man.

"He's been around some pretty hard criminals, and I think he's starting to realize that he does not ever want to be there that long," Mackenzie said, per Romper. "It's been an eye-opener. I just can't wait to have my family back under one roof."

However, Maci found it hard to tell their son about it. Maci had been bending out his frustration over Ryan throughout Teen Mom OG Season 8. She even admitted Ryan reached out to her, but she did not have it.

In Teen Mom OG Season 8 Episode 5, Maci braved to come face-to-face with Ryan. She said she had processed her anger. Although there were scars left because of what happened to them and she was not fully healed yet, she wanted to be there for the people she cared for.

She wanted Ryan to be healthy and happy. Maci also wanted the best for their son, but she is still worried about the consequences of Ryan's action after his release from prison.

Bentley is only 10-years-old, and no kid his age could handle what he is facing with his father. Maci knows their child doesn't know how to handle it, so she believes he is hiding it somewhere. So, fans have to wait and see the aftermath of Ryan's jail time in the future episodes of Teen Mom OG Season 8, airing every Monday on MTV.
