According to former Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown, the marriage of Prince Charles and Princess Diana was far from a love match as the young Lady Diana Spencer was handpicked by Prince Philip to be his son's mate. Another royal biographer, Anthony Holden said that an ominous sign for the marriage of Prince Charles and Princess Diana was the venue in which he eventually proposed. He said that the marriage happened at the Parker-Bowles back garden, another report stated.
However, this claim remains unproven since there have also been rumors that indicated that the proposal happened at Charles' Buckingham Palace apartments. There was also one that claimed that the occasion took place in Windsor Castle.
It was reported that Camilla and Charles enjoyed a close friendship at the time of the marriage, but according to the prince, he and Camilla reignited their romantic relationship in 1986 when his marriage to Diana had "irretrievably broken down."
