Stephen Curry is on his way home from China when he heard the news that his teammate, Kevin Durant, is leaving for the Brooklyn Nets. Durant will play with his two close friends, Kyrie Irving, and DeAndre Jordan, in Brooklyn.

Marcus Thompson of the Athletic confirmed that Curry is flying home from China when he heard the news. He said that the Warriors lead man respected Durant's decision and he wishes him happiness and peace. He also wrote that Durant confirmed his decision with Curry on his apartment in Manhattan.

According to a source, Durant and Curry are getting along with each other. He said that there was no behind-the-scenes fighting to speak of between the two. The two basketball superstars won two titles while playing together. The two became one of the best duos in the history of basketball. Their partnership lasted for three seasons with the Warriors.

During the 2019 NBA finals, Durant suffered an Achilles injury causing him to not perform his 100 percent. When the next season comes, he will play with the Nets.

Despite the success of the Golden State Warriors, Durant still felt uneasy with the team. According to reports, he felt underappreciated during his short stay with the Warriors. Kendrick Perkins revealed during an interview with The Undefeated that Durant never felt like he got the love that he deserved with the Warriors. Perkins also said that Durant felt like he was second in the franchise's pecking order behind the two-time MVP Steph Curry.

Perkins believed that Durant is undecided to stay with the Warriors this past season because he felt unappreciated. According to sources, there were several things that took place over the past year that caused the superstar to leave the team. Durant gained two straight championships and two Finals MVP awards while with the Warriors but he felt like a distant rival of Curry in the team. Curry is a homegrown draft pick of the team in 2009 where he became the face of the franchise. It became evident that Warriors fans showed more love and appreciation for Durant's elite achievements. Durant won the Finals MVP twice. Some of the Warriors fans felt unhappy because they favored Curry for the award.

The two great basketball superstars respected each other but spectators believe that the lack of bond between Durant and Curry contributed to his decision of leaving the Warriors for the nets.
