There are a lot of stories about how the two royal brothers have a special bond and similarity because of what they have been through together. From a broken family and the tragic death of their mother, Prince William and Prince Harry has to go through a lot of challenges, and their mother's love was the only tool they had at that time.
But there is one story that can make them realize that if fate had allowed them, they would have married the same "American Meg" that they both like and love. The story stemmed from a long time ago, even before Prince Harry met the beautiful Suits actress and before Prince William finally realized that a simple girl named Kate Middleton is the one for him.
Royal correspondent and biographer Katie Nicholl who also wrote Kate: The Future Queen, described the second in the line of the throne to be popular in his early years at the University of St. Andrews. And when he started his studies in 2001, the enrollees in that school reportedly increased because of the young ladies' intent to get to know the future king.
There were reports that these young ladies would even change their degrees to be in the same class with him in the history of art lectures. However, one lady did was surprisingly immune to Prince William's charms. The lady name Meghann Gunderman, a Texas heiress, declined an offer to date Prince William and brought in a complete shock from the royal.
But because she is a complete package and a good catch, not to mention her indifference to his title, Prince William was insistent on getting to know her. Nicholl wrote that the young royal even ask Meghann several times "why won't you go out with me?" but the royal's inner circle said in disbelief that "She didn't have it."
The two royal brothers had their fair share of girls and enjoyment despite the strict protocol of their title and as crucial members of the British Royal Family. It is good, though that they were able to feel what it was like to be ordinary men with feelings and naughtiness before they face the very serious role of their future.
In addition to a certain Meghann Gunderman, Prince William has been linked to the "exquisite-looking" socialite Isabella Calthorpe during his "trial separation" with Kate Middleton. And sometimes, history can be very tricky, when the then 17-year old prince apparently fell in love and would "gaze adoringly" at Emma Parker Bowles, who was 25 at the time.
With the increasing scrutiny of the public to the two sons of Prince Charles and Princess Diana, one cannot avoid wishing that their marriages would make a different turn from what happened to their parents. For now, Prince William has three lovely children with Kate Middleton while Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just welcomed their firstborn Archie Harrison last May.
