Queen Elizabeth one made a heartbreaking joke that she probably won't live long enough to see her grandchildren with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Royal author Katie Nicholl said in her article for Vanity Fair that the Queen thought that she probably wouldn't be around to see the children of the Duke of Sussex.
The Prince had been single for a few years before marrying Meghan Markle. The couple's first child was born on May at the Portland Hospital in London. The Queen welcomed her youngest great-grandchild at the age of 93. The child was introduced to the Queen and Prince Phillip in Windsor Castle two days after he was born. Nicholl quoted a family friend saying that the Queen was delighted to be a great grandmother for an eight-time.
The couple's son will be christened at one of the churches of the Queen. The private baptism will be attended by 25 including Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William and Kate Middleton, Doria Ragland and Archie's godparents.
Jessica Mulroney, Meghan's best friend, is expected to fly from Canada to London to attend as one of the godparents of Archie. George and Amal Clooney are also rumored to attend. Doria Ragland, Meghan's mother, will be flying from California to attend the baptism.
In 2013 and 2015, the Queen attended the christening of Prince William and Kate's son and daughter. The older child Prince George was born in 2013, while the younger princess Charlotte was born in 2015.
The Queen and Prince Philip were returning from Norfolk during the christening of Prince Louis. The Queen failed to attend to her baptism. She is scheduled this year to attend a royal engagement on the same day that of Archie's christening. Prince Philip has already retired, and he is allowed to choose the events that he wished to attend. He is not expected to attend Archie's Baptism. The Prince attended the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan on May 19, 2018. He is also present during the nuptials of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank.
Prince Harry keeps Archie away from publicity. Ingrid Seward, Majesty Magazine editor-in-chief, said that it is the Prince who wanted a private christening for his child. The editor thinks that it is Harry-led and it puts Meghan in a very difficult position. Seward added that Meghan is the one getting all the flask as a newcomer to the Royal Family.
