It looks like fans have to forget their plans to launch another #SaveLucifer campaign to continue the show's story after Lucifer Season 5. Showrunner Ildy Modrovich advised the series' supporters just to relax and enjoy the last and final season as their efforts will come to waste and "won't change" a thing.
In a lengthy post, Modrovich addressed fans' confusion about the show's series finale, per The Wrap. "Many are wondering if they should fight for more??" she said. "And while we feel just as sad as many of you do that this marvelous ride is coming to an end, a fight won't change things right now."
Modrovich revealed she already talked to network partners, Netflix, and Warner Bros, and assured fans they took "tremendous care and consideration" in making their decision. So, Lucifer Season 5 would be the show's last and final season with another set of 10 episodes that would be out next year.
She went on to explain that the reason behind the decision to announce that it would be the show's final season weeks after Season 4 premiered was because Netflix knew how "devoted and passionate" fans were. The streaming giant wanted everyone to accept and process the news that it would be the final vow of Lucifer's (Tom Ellis) story.
Modrovich then thanked all fans for the "incredibly beautiful and unique experience" to continue the show for another two seasons following Fox's cancellation after Season 3. So, what would happen now in Lucifer Season 5?
In the previous season, Lucifer had an identity crisis after killing Cain (Tom Welling) and revealing his true identity to Chloe (Lauren German) in Season 3. Fans also saw the arrival of his first girlfriend Eve (Inbar Lavi).
With all the things that happened to Lucifer's life, he found it hard to be the King of Hell that he is now that he has become a good person on Earth. After being hunted down by demons, Lucifer had no choice but to return to hell to play his role as the devil and an angel that he is destined to be.
So in Lucifer Season 5, it is expected that he would return to Earth and be reunited with Chloe after their tearful goodbye and his friends on Earth. Of course, Ellis and German will return in the last and final season to reprise their roles as Lucifer and Chloe, respectively.
According to RadioTimes, there are also rumors that Lavi will be back to play her role once again as Eve. Co-showrunner Joe Henderson revealed they loved working with the 32-year-old star. However, there are questions of how many stories they can tell about her character after they set her off on a new starting point of her life.
Henderson hopes that in whatever way, Season 4 will not be the last time fans will see Eve. Lucifer Season 5 is expected to be out in 2020 on Netflix.
