Euphoria season 1 episode 4 recently aired on HBO and it brings a story that comes with different twists. Here's what happened in the previous episode, titled "Shook One Pt. II."
In the synopsis of Euphoria season 1 episode 4, Rue is trying her best to get clean for Jules, and she also chaperones Gia at the carnival. Cassie and Maddy are both annoyed at their boyfriends, so they decided to do Molly together. Kath hangs out with Ethan, but then, she misreads a situation. Jules, on the other hand, encountered Cal with his family, while Nate revealed who he is.
So, Rue is doing everything she can just to get her life together and be better, especially since Jules needs her. While she's not a perfect person, she's still young and has had her fair share of issues and vulnerabilities that she needs to overcome.
One of the intriguing things that happened in Euphoria season 1 episode 4 is that the trip to the carnival brings some messy excitements. Jules' backstory was revealed in this particular episode and it appears to be a heartbreaking one. She struggled with crushing anxiety and OCD-like tendencies, which prompted her parents to send her to a mental hospital at the age of 11.
As narrated by Rue, Jules finds the facility depressing and it comes to the point where she slit her wrist using a torn strip of a soda can. She was then sent to the hospital, and eventually comes home. When she's 13, Jules started transitioning, and then Rue says her best friend has been with different guys at 16.
In the carnival, Nate and his family are manning the chili contest booth. Jules was shocked when she sees Nate's dad, Cal, the man she slept with in a motel. Rue doesn't believe Jules at first, so she went to the stand to talk to Cal. He was shocked, and his hands were shaking when he handed her the cup of chili, and that's when Rue realized her best friend is telling the truth.
At the end of Euphoria season 1 episode 4, it was revealed that Tyler was Nate and threatens Jules he would sue her for child pornography. But Jules refused to let him have total control over her, and she runs to Rue after that incident.
