There is little doubt that the upcoming season of GLOW is going to be a big one for the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. After all, they are now headed for Las Vegas where their future appears to be so much brighter. But is it possible that trouble is waiting for the women at the Riviera? Could Geena Davis' new character Sandy Devereaux St. Clair make things difficult in GLOW Season 3?
It was previously reported that Geena Davis would be joining the cast of GLOW Season 3 as Sandy Devereaux St. Clair, a former showgirl who now serves as the entertainment director for the Fan-Tan Hotel and Casino. Sandy has chosen the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling to be the new headliners at the hotel, and there is little doubt that she is expecting a lot from the women. After all, the wrestlers were a huge hit on TV. But will it prove to be too much for the girls?
The first trailer for the third season immediately shows the wrestlers having the time of their life in Las Vegas. Cherry Bang aka 'Junkchain' or 'Black Magic' (Sydelle Noel) is shown getting lucky at roulette, much to the delight of her friends. It's also clear that Ruth 'Zoya The Destroya' Wilder (Alison Brie) is having a great time in the City of Sin, as Sam Sylvia (Marc Maron) declares. However, there is at least one person who doesn't seem as happy with the wrestlers' new gig.
Debbie 'Liberty Belle' Eagan (Betty Gilpin) is the first one who asks about Sandy Devereaux St. Clair. Sam's answer isn't revealed, but audiences learn that Sandy is the entertainment director of the hotel and casino. Sandy also seems to be amazingly generous to the ladies. "Have a drink and play a little blackjack on us," she tells Debbie as she hands the wrestler an entire tray of chips.
So is Sandy a good guy? She certainly seems to have complete trust on GLOW. Later in the trailer, she announces that she wants to extend their contract "until the end of the year." This pretty much means that the ladies will have to stay in Las Vegas much longer than expected, and Debbie might not like it one bit.
Will Geena Davis cause trouble for the wrestlers? Could the team survive the fast-paced life in Las Vegas? GLOW Season 3 will premiere on Netflix on August 9.
