It looks like Smurf Cody's troubles are set to continue in Animal Kingdom Season 4 Episode 8. However, most of her dilemmas will have to be dealt with without her family. The matriarch of the Cody clan is setting off on some mysterious journey that would make it impossible for her to join the heist that J Cody has proposed. But will Smurf manage to get back just in time to see whether her grandson succeeds or fails in completing the job in 'Ambo'?
In the episode 'Know Thy Enemy,' J came up with the plan to hit the Chronic Dread Fest where the clan could score a lot of equipment. Although she seemed uncertain about the plan at first, Smurf eventually agreed because of J's persistence and the seeming urgency to get the job done. Interestingly, Smurf also makes a decision that proves she isn't feeling like herself at all. She decided that J should find out about the value of the equipment instead of sending Gia.
It might seem like a hasty decision, but Smurf has other things in mind right now. After all, she spent most of the episode looking for the person who had spoken to the police. Smurf ultimately got a bag full of high-powered weapons before stealing a car from the airport and driving away to parts unknown. Will her mission finally be revealed in Animal Kingdom Season 4 Episode 8?
There are speculations that Smurf has gone away to deal with some unfinished business. Although it is unclear what she is up to, it is believed that she will make it back in time for the heist to see whether J is successful or not. Some believe that it might be Smurf's way of testing her grandson to see if he is capable of finishing a job without any hitches. On the other hand, she might be setting J up for failure in 'Ambo.'
The promo for Animal Kingdom Season 4 Episode 8 shows some tension between the Cody boys as they worry about Smurf's absence. Unfortunately, it also looks like the heist didn't go as planned. Is this something that Smurf was hoping for so her sons will not see J as their new leader? Can J still manage to convince his uncles that he is capable of masterminding a successful job?
