Suits will soon come to an end as USA Network is about to drop its ninth and final season, but the network is set to introduce its spinoff series, Pearson. Fans are about to see the story of Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres) after her life in the law firm. From a legal drama, everything will be new with the shift to the dirty politics in Chicago.

The spinoff series is hoping to hold on the original show's viewership. Here, fans are about to see Jessica after she gets disbarred and adjusts to work in Chicago as Mayor Bobby Novak's (Morgan Spector) right-hand fixer.

"Jessica is quickly embroiled in a crooked and dangerous new world where every action has far-reaching consequences," Pearson official synopsis read. "With her compulsion to win, Jessica is forced to reconcile her unstoppable drive with her desire to do the right thing - two things very much at odds."

Although Jessica's life now seems to be in danger, it is not far from the things she did when she was still in Suits. Fortunately, showrunner Aaron Korsh didn't pursue his plan to kill Jessica when he left the original series in 2016.

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Korsh revealed USA Network asked him not to kill Jessica's character. Fortunately, he didn't. If Jessica died, they had no idea how the spinoff series would be made and its possible impact on Suits.

If they killed Jessica, they needed to do a major time jump to make everyone moved on from what happened. "I was very glad I decided not to do it," he admitted.

Now that Jessica seems to be safe on her television series, more dangers are about to come to her way in Pearson more than in Suits. The worst thing that could happen here in Jessica is undoubtedly much worse than what could transpire in the original series.

In Suits, the most dangerous thing to occur is the revelation of Mike Ross' (Patrick J Adams) lack of a law degree and the fraudulent career he built without it. Mike might get caught, and it is the worst thing that might happen in the show, but no one would get killed.

It would only be a white-collar crime versus blue-collar crime. But in the spinoff series, the stakes are a lot higher for Jessica. Suits Season 9 and Pearson will be both out on Wednesday, July 17, on USA Network.
