One player who was part of the Anthony Davis trade is Brandon Ingram. Despite being on the injured list due to a blood clot issue on his arm, the second overall pick of the 2016 NBA Draft is seen as someone with big potential. In fact, he is seen as the perhaps the next coming of Kevin Durant or Giannis Antetokounmpo. He could possibly do just that with his new team, the New Orleans Pelicans.

Along with Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart, all three former players from the Los Angeles Lakers are expected to show their full potential in New Orleans. Pundits feel that like D'Angelo Russell and Julius Randle, the trio can prove to one and all that they are the future of the NBA. Ball and Hart should get a head start this coming NBA season while Ingram's return to action may take more time.

Ingram's illness may be different from the career-ending blood clot that Chris Bosh suffered, Shams Charania of the Athletic said. The 6-foot-9 cager is expected to return at some point this 2019-20 NBA season even if he is not yet ready to join regular workouts. Ingram bared these during their formal presentation along with Derrick Favors - an acquisition from the Utah Jazz.

The best to expect for Ingram is that he is close to returning to workouts. He is still in the recovery stages and has not resumed shooting. However he added that he was already working on his form, the Associated Press said.

The best thing that Ingram can do right now is hope that his recovery goes well. There is no doubt that the Pelicans will try to bring out the best in him as the Pelicans start life transitioning from the Anthony Davis era. With a young core that includes top pick Zion Williamson, the Pelicans could be among the dark horses for the coming season. Seeing how the team lacks veteran presence, Ingram could be one of them since he is entering his fourth year in the league.

There was a time when LeBron James saw big things about Ingram. With his length, the three-time NBA champion compares the former Duke University standout as someone who could rank behind Durant and Antetokounmpo. Things may not have worked out for Ingram in Hollywood, although he can start fresh and show other NBA teams that there is a reason why he got comparisons from multiple personalities aside from James.
