The renowned country singer and songwriter, Miranda Lambert, has been bagging prestigious music awards from organizations such as the Academy of Country Music, the Country Music Association Awards, and the Grammys (a handful of it) since as long as anyone can remember.
Saying that the country music sensation is one of the most successful in the industry would be an understatement. However, this immense success comes at a high price, and for Lambert, it is invariably her personal life and the relationships she has.
Lambert had previously been dating a fellow country music star Blake Shelton for a long time before they decided to eventually tie the knot. Everything seemed to be going well for the country music power couple until out of nowhere, Shelton filed a divorce against her in 2015.
They subsequently had a bitter split. Shelton then went on to date his The Voice co-star, Gwen Stefani, and the two have remained strong since then. The couple are now even in talks of getting married anytime soon.
After her long-term relationship with Shelton, Lambert has been dating other singers and songwriters on and off such as Anderson East and Evan Felker in 2018. The latter was reportedly involved in a scandal when he was dating Lambert until she eventually found out that he actually had a wife.
Suffice it to say, those relationships did not work out. And in August of that year, Lambert had officially announced that she was single and intended to keep it that way for some time after the endless drama she had to go through in her luckless dating life.
However, her endeavor to stay single and take a break from finding a partner abruptly came to an end when, in February this year, she announced as a Valentine special on her Instagram that she recently got hitched.
The singer had revealed that she got married back in January in a private ceremony. What is more suspicious is that her new groom is someone with no connections to the music industry at all. In fact, Brendan McLoughlin is a respectable NYPD officer. There were speculations about why Lambert jumped in and married the cop in such a rush.
An insider source close to the couple then revealed that they had only met two months before they decided to tie the knot. The rushed manner of their matrimony as well as her choice of spouse had surely raised some eyebrows everywhere.
Moreover, a picture on McLoughlin's Instagram has raised the guesswork about why they got married so quickly. In the photo, the cop was cradling a newborn baby in his arms, and he captioned the photo, saying he was blessed to have a healthy son.
People began to think this child might have been Lambert's and that was the reason they tied the knot so early into their relationship. However, it was revealed that McLoughlin sired the child from a previous relationship and that Lambert was merely stepping up to be a stepmother to the boy.
With that ticked off the list, interest in the matter has gone up as to what had been the actual reason for their shotgun wedding.
A source close to Lambert had recently leaked that, ever since Shelton and Stefani had been in talks of marriage, Lambert had been in a jealous rage. She was still admittedly bitter towards the two and allegedly decided to marry her current husband in order to upstage her ex.
Although nothing has been confirmed yet, some think that is just one cold reason to get hitched. No comment has been forthcoming from Lambert or her official representatives.
