During the release of Lover’s lead-off single, ME!, it has been already revealed that Taylor Swift is set to play the role of Bombalurina for the upcoming film, Cats. While the details have not been largely shared with the public in the early months, there was a few information that has been passed on through the pop star.

The preparations for the musical film entail the attending of “Cat School” on set as per Taylor Swift. And this is to study and learn all about the lifestyle of cats to further help the structure of the film and production. Another hint that has been given is that Cats will feature an all-star cast.

Although little has been shared during that time, the case is now different as the first teaser and trailer materials are already circulating the media.

Before the actual release of the official material on Friday, a documentary teaser has been provided to the audience. And based on the looks of it, it seemingly appears that the musical film will be grandiose and “huge.” The likes of Jennifer Hudson, James Corden, Jason Derulo, Rebel Wilson, and Taylor Swift are seen in the short clip as they share about the actual preparations that they have done in the past few weeks.

Other cast members are also revealed to include Judi Dench and Ian McKellen. Also, world-renowned star and newcomer, Francesca Hayward, is set to play the role of the Ballerina.

The initial reaction of the audience was that the film would certainly be a hit. And upon seeing the rigorous process of training and preparation, it seemingly appears that the effort is truly highlighted. But the case became more intense when the official trailer has dropped a few days after.

According to The Sun, most of the fandom has now referred to the musical film as a “CGI Monstrosity.” And this is all because of the “fur technology” that the production has used for the film.

As it happened, Cats’ director, Tom Hooper, along with Taylor Swift, revealed in the early parts of the production that the actors would not be wearing cat costumes. Instead, they will utilize a much newer technology to which they refer to as “fur technology.”

No one expects that this technology will be a total “monstrosity” in the industry. But while it may sound unpleasant, it is a compliment as most people claimed that this kind of tech had not been used to any of the films today.

Tom Hooper’s Cats is set to premiere on December 20 of this year.
