Vikings Season 6 is now in the works, and there are theories one major character is about to return. Eagle-eyed viewers found an Easter Egg that seemed to hint Ragnar Lothbrok's (Travis Fimmel) comeback.
Fans last saw Ragnar wearing manacles on his wrists. It was the same chain the guy who was crowning Ivar the Boneless (Alex Høgh Andersen), his son, was donning, in the poster of Season 5's second half. As it was the same metal band, was it also the same man?
The producers weighed in on the issue and revealed their reaction on the show's official Instagram page. Will they indeed bring Ragnar in Vikings Season 6 back?
In the post, they shared a photo of an aged Ragnar using FaceApp, which everyone seems to be using today to see their old selves. From the looks of it, the show's producers are joining the bandwagon by using this meme-inducing app.

"Skol Vikings X We decided to bring back Ragnar!" the snap's caption read. According to Winter is Coming, although the producers only made fun of the theory, they didn't deny Ragnar would return to Vikings Season 6.
Some fans even got angry when Randar's old look was shared on Instagram. One fan asked the photo to be deleted, while another questioned its legitimacy, asking producers not to give them false hopes. Some of them are still desperate to see Ragnar back in Vikings Season 6, saying they need him back.
However, as the show is based on real-world history, Ragnar's return seems to be unlikely. The manner of Ragnar's death at the hands of Aelle's (Ivan Kaye) hands is based on a historical event. So, bringing him alive may be impossible.
Possibly, they can bring Ragnar back in Vikings Season 6 through a flashback or a dream sequence. Also, Fimmer has been long saying that he has no plans to return on such a moment.
Express noted that if History should return Ragnar, it would surely surprise a lot of fans and generate a lot of excitement for the franchise. It would also be a good move for the show, as Vikings had no nomination in this year's Emmy Awards for the first time.
Each season of the show used to have several nominations for different categories, but not today. The competition is said to be tough this year, so it was "left by the wayside."
But, Vikings Season 6 is aiming high as it will be its last and final outing. The new season is due for release later this year on History Channel.
