Kylo Ren might be one of the most popular characters in the Star Wars Universe, but there is still a lot that fans can learn about his past. Luckily, people will get to know more about Adam Driver's character before the premiere of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. A new miniseries focusing on Kylo has just been confirmed by Lucasfilm. In addition to that, the origins of the Knights of Ren will be revealed before their return in Star Wars Episode 9.
In Star Wars: The Force Awakens, it was revealed that Kylo Ren is the son of Han Solo and Leia Organa who was once trained by his uncle Luke Skywalker to become a Jedi. However, Ben Solo had turned away from the Jedi and reportedly burned down Luke's Jedi temple before joining up with Supreme Leader Snoke and the First Order. Interestingly, Ben's side of the story was explained in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, confirming that he believed Luke was trying to kill him. But how did Ben eventually become Kylo and lead the Knights of Ren?
All of the questions about Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren will finally be answered in a four-issue comic book miniseries that will be published by Marvel Comics. Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren was announced at the Lucasfilm Publishing panel at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con. Charles Soule, who previously wrote Star Wars: Darth Vader - Dark Lord of the Sith, will pen the comics which is expected to be published ahead of the Episode 9 premiere. Soule even teased on what fans can look forward to in the new series.
Soule took to Twitter to confirm that The Rise of Kylo Ren will explore Ben's journey from being a young Jedi to becoming an important figure in the First Order. In addition to that, the mysterious origins of the Knights of Ren will finally be revealed.
The Rise of Kylo Ren certainly seems like the perfect reading material to get into before Star Wars Episode 9 hits theaters. This way, fans will fully understand why Ben Solo decided to join the Dark Side and team up with a group of equally skilled warriors.

Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren is expected to be released in December before Episode 9. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will hit theaters on December 20.
