Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana only had two children, Prince William, and Prince Charles. As their eldest child is the second-in-line to the throne, there might be a competition between the two brothers. Hence, no one could blame the former Princess of Wales if she showered their youngest son with more affection.
Princess Diana saw how the royal family and those working in the firm treated Prince William and Prince Harry differently. She even allegedly confronted Queen Elizabeth II about the different treatments.
Prince Harry felt like everyone liked Prince William more than him. As the Duke of Cambridge is in line of succession, he will be the king of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms.
So to avoid Prince Harry feeling left out, Princess Diana's friend told The Telegraph she and his then-husband showered him with so much love and affection. Prince Charles' first wife felt the need to give the Duke of Sussex attention so that he would never feel overshadowed by Prince William.
"Charles and I worked so hard to ensure that both boys receive equal amounts of our time and love," Princess Diana said. "Others in the family seem to concentrate on William."
Years have passed and Princess Diana now went, Prince William and Prince Harry have gone different ways. The younger British prince has forged his way to go on a different path.
Now, he is married to Meghan Markle, making Prince Harry feel like he can have more accomplishments. A source told Express going on different paths is an opportunity for the two brothers to spread their wings and do their own thing.
Now that Prince Harry has Meghan by his side, Princess Diana's former royal butler, Paul Burrell, told Yahoo's The Royal Box "it's the beginning of his future." The two tied the knot in May 2018.
After their marriage, changes have been made in the royal family. The Royal Foundation, the organization Prince Harry and Prince William started in 2009, had included Meghan months after their marriage.
However, it was announced Prince Harry, and Meghan would no longer be part of the foundation. Prince William and Kate would reportedly continue working on the organization without them.
There were rumors the split has something to do with Prince William and Prince Harry's feud. However, Burrell cleared that their decision to go on different ways didn't have anything to do with their relationship. Despite the issues surrounding the two, they remain to have a strong bond as brothers.
