The English Premier League will open in less than a month, and top-billed clubs are still looking to land important transfer deals to boost their clubs' chance to the title. While the rumor mill is filled with some of England's top clubs, one particular deal stands on top of the rest: Manchester United's rumored £90 million deal.

Rumors claiming that the Red Devils are setting their target towards Harry Maguire from Leicester City has gain attention in the past few weeks. Reports claim that Maguire is getting increasingly frustrated with his current standing with the club and is asking for a way out. The Foxes is reportedly setting quite a high price tag for Maguire at £90 million, and Manchester United is among the front runner to acquire the defender.

Manchester United is not the only club that has Maguire on their sights. Apparently, the club's rival, Manchester City, is also vying to get the defender's signature. However, negotiations may have come to a halt after Manchester City refused to change its valuation of Maguire which is set at £65 million.

While £90 million might be a hefty price to pay for the defender, there is one important figure in this negotiation that might influence to get the deal done. It would appear that Manchester United's top honcho Gunnar Solskjaer has his eyes on Maguire and plans to partner him with Victor Lindelof. Many analysts believe that this two will create a dominant defensive line that will be a nightmare for any team.

Since taking the reins in December, Solskjaer had juggled a number of center-back combinations. However, one player remained constant in his rotation: Lindelof. Throughout the remainder of the season, Lindelof was seen being paired with Eric Bailly, Phil Jones, and Chris Smalling. It would be quite interesting to see how he will fare with Maguire in the defense.

Some analysts have noted that Solskjaer is keen into picking a duo of center-backs as the core of his defense. As such, it comes as no surprise why he is looking towards a viable defender. The Norwegian's playbook has also been built around dominant full-backs who have a habit of cutting forward, a tactic that leaves the defense line vulnerable. However, Maguire has proven himself to be a great defender and may work magic with the Red Devils.

If there is one disheartening caveat to this rumor, it would be for Marcos Rojo. Should the deal with Leicester City pull through, Rojo will most likely loss his spot in favor of Maguire.
