The premiere episode of Suits Season 9 set the stage for the series finale. Everything looks to be intense as the show is about to say goodbye after eight years on the air. In Episode 2, someone is set to be back to surprise everyone and help the firm.
"The firm faces the repercussions of its actions," "Special Master" official synopsis read. "Samantha (Katherine Heigl) enlists Katrina (Amanda Schull) to help an old friend."
In Suits Season 9 Episode 2, there is a threat that everyone may get fired. There is even a word, "You are fired," heard in the new episode's promo when the door is about to close at Harvey (Gabriel Macht). At this time of trouble, there is no one they can turn to but Mike (Patrick J Adams).
Mike is the only one who can perfectly bend the law without anyone noticing it. He may be the one who is going to help "an old friend," but he may be surprised to see Harvey is not the same person that he used to know.
"You've lost yourself, Harvey, and you know it," he said. But knowing Harvey and Mike's relationship, it will never get completed without any trouble and conflict.
The premiere episode slowly dropped hints that Mike would return. It even showed bits about his wife, Rachel (Meghan Markle).
But would Markle return in Suits Episode 9? It's unlikely. It may be impossible for fans to see Rachel once again on the small screen, knowing that the 37-year-old actress is now the Duchess of Sussex and a member of the royal family as Prince Harry's wife.
However, Adams already confirmed his return to the final season for the last showdown, per Devdiscourse. Mike is the only person that Harvey turns to whenever there is trouble.
So, it is quite expected Harvey will call Mike in Suits Season 9 Episode 2 as things get out of hand when a Bar representative wants to take over of the firm. Pearson Specter Litt will have excellent use of Mike. But, things will never be smooth sailing even if he arrives.
Mike will help the firm as an outsider and not as an employee or a partner as the new leadership will impose some restrictions. So, fans have to wait and see how things will play out in Suits Season 9 Episode 2, "Special Master," when it hits the small screen on Wednesday, July 24, on the USA Network.
