Fans now have a lot of questions about Dark Season 3 after the previous season's shocking finale. As the show is now in production, little hints about the new installment now emerge.
"Starting the production of the last season of Dark is much more than just the beginning of the production of the third installment," Netflix vice president of International Originals Kelly Luegenbiehl said, per The Hollywood Reporter. "We are literally going full circle with our first German original series and cannot wait for [showrunners Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar] to fulfill their vision and reveal the final secrets to the audiences and fans around the globe that have embraced Dark from the start."
Dark Season 3 will be the final vow of the mystery-drama series. Season 2 finale teased there would be more time travel so that its timeline would be restored to its right continuity. It would also avoid character deaths while time traveling.
Season 2 successfully puzzled fans' mind. Hence, it will be an exciting sight to see what Friese and Odor are going to do in the new season.
According to the executive producers, Dark Season 3 will give answers to every question fans have. It will also tie all the loose ends the story has through time.
From the looks of it, the new season has a lot of storyline to untangle and questions to address, including what happened to young Elisabeth (Carlotta von Falkenhayn) and her father, Peter (Stephan Kampwirth). According to Digital Spy, there are also questions if Katharina (Jördis Triebel) will make it to 1986, and what are the steps Adam (Dietrich Hollinderbäumer) and the rest of Sic Mundus have to take to find Mikkel (Daan Lennard Liebrenz).
Meanwhile, there will be new faces coming to Dark Season 3. Barbara Nusse, Hans Diehl, Jakob Diehl, Nina Kronjager, Sammy Scheuritzel, and Axel Werner will be making their way to the series to play new roles that may be either friends or foes.
Of course, the original cast members will also return to the series for a showdown. Louis Hofmann, Lisa Vicari, Andreas Pietschmann, Moritz Jahn, Gina Stiebitz, and Paul Lux, among others, will reprise their roles for the last time.
Netflix has yet to announce when Dark Season 3 will officially be out, but it is due for release in 2020. Its first season was out in June 2017, while the second season was released in June this year. So, it may take time before the new season comes out.
