The Walking Dead Season 10 is about to hit the small screens, and there will be a new team-up that will surely surprise everyone. At the recent San Diego Comic-Con 2019, Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon, teased his character and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) may work together for a new mission.
"We're not on the same team, for sure, but there's something between us that we connect with," Reedus said, via Digital Spy. Morgan, on the other hand, added they would be "heading in the same direction" this year.
Eleanor Matsuura, who plays Yumiko, also dropped an insight about how they would connect Daryl and Negan's storylines in The Walking Dead Season 10. "It steers off into an espionage kind of vibe," she said.
In the new season, there would be a Cold War vibes as some form of paranoia would be creeping into their world. There would be a lot of "double-crossing and wondering" if everyone is telling the truth. Things would be more psychological this time that the show has never done before.
With the threats surrounding the characters, nobody knows who they can trust. They would be letting new people join the group, but they might not be as good as they thought. As there would be whole espionage going, Daryl and Negan have to work together in The Walking Dead Season 10.
Reedus added he loves what's Morgan is doing with his character this year. It would be surely utterly different from the Negan fans used to know.
There would be a mutual understanding between Negan and Daryl come The Walking Dead Season 10 that they would need each other's hand at some point. As they have all done crazy things, the time would come that they would need Negan's help.
Reedus also hinted the Whisperer leader Alpha (Samantha Moron) might be the reason behind Daryl and Negan's union. In the new season's trailer, Negan gets freed from solitary confinement and worked together with Aaron (Ross Marquand). So, there is a huge possibility Negan has already changed.
According to ComicBook, in the series' comic book version, Negan pledged his loyalty to the Alexandria leader, Rick Grimes, when he killed Alpha and gave him her decapitated head. He also risked his life to save Rick when the group's second leader, Beta, led a swarm of walkers to attack their community.
Rick and Negan teamed-up to fight their way out from the walkers, ending with Rick saving Negan's life. Now that Rick is gone in the series, this might play out as Daryl and Negan's team-up in The Walking Dead Season 10.
