Madam Secretary Season 6 is now in the works, as everyone is back to reprise their roles on the set. The last and final season is currently in production as they continue Elizabeth McCord's (Téa Leoni) political journey for the last time.
Erich Berge, who plays as Blake Moran, shared on Instagram that they are all back at work for the new season. Season 6 will be their last chance to show a new journey that will be different from all the rest, per CarterMatt.
Elizabeth has announced her plan to run for the presidential seat in the previous season finale. When the show hits the small screen, fans are about to see how these people work for the greater good as they will do everything for the world and other people's sake.
The show has been praised for telling a good story from the very beginning. Hence, fans are hoping to still see the same in Madam Secretary Season 6 - especially that the election season in the United States is about to begin.
The election can be messy and ugly, and fans have to see how the show will play it out. Elizabeth has been facing world issues with no sweat. She also knows how to celebrate the common good. Although she is not an idealist, she looks for a way to inject positivity on everything.
Unfortunately, Elizabeth's time in the office is about to come to an end with the conclusion of Madam Secretary Season 6. As CBS announced, the show will only have 10 episodes this time to complete her political journey.
Aside from Leoni, the new season will also include Tim Daly, Sara Ramirez, Keith Carradine, Sebastian Arecelus, Patina Miller, and Geoffrey Arend. Erich Bergen, Katherine Herzer, Wallis Currie-Wood, Evan Roae, and Željko Ivanek will also be in the final season.
After Elizabeth left the state department, fans are about to see her starting campaigning for the presidential election. "We've always been about pulling back the curtain on the State Department and showing the process of diplomacy," co-creator Barbara Hall told TVLine about the Season 6. "So, this is going to be pulling back the curtain on a campaign and everything that that involves."
Throughout the show's run, it has attracted a lot of very famous fans who know the state department themselves. Hillary Clinton, Colin Powell, and Madeleine Albright had been featured in the previous season. Madam Secretary Season 6 is set to be out on Sunday, Oct. 6, on CBS.
