Talia Bishop will be no longer seen in The Rookie Season 2 when it returns to the small screen. Afton Williamson bid her goodbye from the series as she left the show ahead of the new season premiere.

According to TVLine, Williamson will not return in the new season to reprise her role as Talia. Sources revealed her departure was "amicable," but the show's producers, ABC and eOne, are both mum about the issue.

Even Williamson has yet to addresses her exit on her social media pages. Her Twitter and Instagram accounts have been inactive since May and April, respectively. However, she has been using the Instagram story to update her followers, although none of it discusses her withdrawal.

It also remains to be seen if Williamson's character will be recast or written off in The Rookie Season 2. Hence, fans are surprised to learn the news, knowing Talia is a significant part of the show.

Williamson's exit only means a loss of one of the major characters that will leave a significant void in the series. She has been loved by the many as the fan-favorite training officer of John Nolan (Nathan Fillion).

Although Nolan is the "rookie," he still needs someone to train him, and Talia is doing a great job. So, how does Williamson's departure will play out in The Rookie Season 2?

According to CinemaBlend, the show should avoid explaining Talia's exit with a "one-off line" that will only casually reveal her departure. It will surely cause a disaster among fans.

ABC should quickly address her absence in The Rookie Season 2. As she has been Nolan's training officer from the first season, her disappearance will lead to a lot of questions - especially if the rookie still needs someone to train him.

Fans hope the network will not give a dire explanation about Williamson's exit. As she has been a fan-favorite, it should just leave an open door for her possible return.

Meanwhile, fans are still about to see Nathan Fillion, Alyssa Diaz, Richard T. Jones, Titus Makin Jr., Melissa O'Neil, and Eric Winter reprising their roles in The Rookie Season 2. The Final Destination and Resident Evil star Ali Larter will also join the series as an emergency room doctor that has a thing with Nolan before.

Fans should see how the network will address Williamson's exit when it launches in the fall. The Rookie Season 2 is set to be out on Sunday, Sept. 29, on ABC.
