Nicki Minaj is fed up with the unsolicited comments and advice from netizens and friends alike on her relationship with Kenneth "Zoo" Petty. The singer and rapper had a frank message to all those who have been hating on her and her new relationship with Petty.
Nicki had only recently made her new relationship public and Instagram-official when she posted a few shots taken from her 36th birthday celebration which she had in Turks and Caicos. Some of the photos featured her holding hands with her new beau while being locked in an embrace. Another one showed Nicki wrapping her leg around her man while he looked at her lovingly.
After the pop star made her relationship public, a lot of fans and netizens were quick to do a background check on her new boyfriend. And the details they had racked up from the man's past had sent them into a fury of hateful comments and telling the star to stay away from the guy.
Petty is an ex-convict who had served time for a long list of major crimes. The 40-year-old is reportedly also a level-two registered sex offender in New York City.
This means that Petty is technically classified as someone who has a moderate risk to repeat the offense and who is required to be registered as a sex offender for life. According to his records, he had narrowly escaped being sent to jail for four years because of attempted rape when he was 16 years old.
He had used a sharp object to coerce a girl of the same age to have intercourse with him. The teenage girl fled from the scene and had reported to some authorities immediately which had gotten Petty arrested.
He also had to serve some time in prison because of a shooting incident. Petty pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter after he had shot and instantly killed a man named Lamont Robinson way back in 2002.
Police officials had first charged him with second-degree murder but were able to lighten his sentence and lower the charges after he had supposedly cut them a deal. He then served seven years in prison and upon being released, had been under supervision for five more years.
Petty reportedly has a lot of things in common with Nicki. Both work in the music industry and both rappers. The two were also born in Queens, New York City, and are proud of the fact they coincidentally came from the same city. They were introduced by a mutual friend and had started dating after they liked each other so much when they first met.
Although he has quite a rap sheet and allegedly has a total of 12 mugshots, Nicki has always looked past that and defended him from public predators who have been relentlessly shaming him for his past.
