It is impossible for a group to have members with identical skills. There would always be those who are better at rapping, more amazing at dancing, and many powerful vocals than the others.
With that said, there are a lot of K-pop groups who have a “vocal line” and a “dance line.” As for BTS, their dance line is consist of four members, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. That doesn’t mean that Jin, Suga, and RM are not good dancers, but the other boys are just more naturally gifted in dancing.
Despite not being a part of the dance line, Jin was praised by a dance director for his dance skill, and he was pretty proud of it. BangtanTV recently shared a video from BTS’s last “Dionysus” stage at Inkigayo, where the 26-year-old singer and songwriter could be seen telling Jimin about what the dance director told him.
“We ended the promotion of ‘Dionysus.’ Jimin, Sungdeok-teacher saying that I’m very good at dancing, right?” Jin asked Jimin for confirmation. “Yes, he said so,” the 23-year-old singer, songwriter, and dancer responded.
All ARMYs know that Jin is never short on confidence, so he took things up a notch and compared his dancing skills to Jimin’s. “I’m proud of that. I want to compare my dance skills with your skills. It’s like small differences,” he told the younger BTS star.
Jimin has a contemporary dance training, making him one of the best dancers, not only in their group but in the whole K-pop world as well. He is one of those idols who is born to dance. He would spend countless hours perfecting their choreography and refining his technique to reach the top dancer level.
Although he may not be as serious as Jimin when it comes to dancing, Jin thinks that their skill is almost the same. After saying that there is only a small difference in their dance skill, Jimin laughed.
Jin then demanded to know why he laughed, but the much-serious (and better) dancer just said that he shouldn’t compare. But Jin believed in his skill so much that he insisted that he is just as good as Jimin at dancing, making Jimin laugh even harder.
Of course, ARMYs know that Jin was just being silly and know quite well how serious Jimin is with his dancing. He was just really proud that the dance director complimented him and probably felt like he was at Jimin’s level at the time.
