Read at your own risk: This article contains spoilers for Ink Master Season 12.

The head-to-head challenge during the previous episode of Ink Master Season 12 was a tough one for all the artists. But in the end, Ash was given another chance to prove herself and Tito was sent home after the traditional Japanese hannya mask challenge.

While technical application became a huge struggle for all the artists last week, the color theory and new school challenge for this week's episode has provided a much more surprising turnout of events.

The flash challenge during the first part of the Pins & No Needles episode was a close call between the two groups. But even so, the judges enjoyed the finish moth output created by the women's team.

According to Inked Magazine, the winning team has been given the "opportunity" to assign the skull picks for the elimination round. And this has given them the advantage for this round.

Following the picks, the artist went on with their respective plans for the color theory and new school elimination challenge. And as many fans would know, Fon's forte is not in line with this week's challenges.

As per Cartermatt, Fon is a portrait artist, and that makes him much more inclined to having references to base his works from. So, creating new and original drawings is not his best asset. And unfortunately, the challenge required it.

While the fans have remained positive and hopeful that he could pull through this week's elimination challenge, his Woody and Bullseye-like portrait was billed as a "rushed" work.

The judges of Ink Master Season 12 claimed that his output looked like he positioned the "stencil on" in the dark. And this was already a tell that Fon is already on the verge of the competition.

While it became a surprise to most of the fans that he was placed at the bottom, everyone knew that the other artists' works are much more promising than his. As a result, he got eliminated from the competition and was sent home for good.

During the previous episodes of Ink Master Season 12, Fon is one of the most promising artists in the group. A lot of people thought that he would become one of the remaining contenders for the title. But since the challenges are pretty volatile, such matters are hard to predict.

While a fan-favorite artist was sent home last episode, Ink Master Season 12 will continue its course. The Drawing Alliances episode is set to air on August 6, on Paramount Network.
