Teresa Mendoza (played by Alice Braga) is contemplating on leaving New Orleans in Queen of the South season 4 episode 9. Running a drug empire has put her family's life in danger and pushed her to do things she doesn't want.
So, despite the profits, Teresa has to decide if this is worth sticking around for. The episode synopsis of Queen of the South season 4 episode 9, titled "Sins of the Father," suggests that Teresa could end up compromising her morals if she stays in New Orleans any longer.
Thus, the problem in Teresa's predicament. Her business has made her do and say things that go against her principles because this is the only way for her empire to thrive. However, the teaser for Queen of the South season 4 episode 9 hints that Teresa won't give up against her enemies so easily.
"You know that I'm capable of," Teresa says in the teaser. "I will destroy your family."
Queen of the South saw Teresa uproot her life from Mexico to Dallas up to her last relocation in New Orleans. Here, she deals with a Cuban drug dealer and the leader of the street gang as she expands her empire to the East Coast.
However, as she formed new alliances in Queen of the South season 4, Teresa also made new enemies and broke the trust of her previous associates. She has been forced to decide on the future of her business, which left her with a heavy burden, per USA Network.
Meanwhile, Queen of the South season 4 episode 8, which aired last Thursday, July 25, had Javier vowing to Teresa that he'll commit to a suicide mission. He made this promise perhaps because he's awash in guilt over Rene's murder.
A threat coming from an FBI informant has also rocked the shaky ground of Teresa's business. According to Film Daily, the mole could most likely be Eddie (played by Bailey Chase) who's too good, too perfect, and too convenient. But it could also be Birdie (played by Chelsea Tavares) a local who knows every dirt in the town.
Queen of the South season 4 has four more episodes left to air before it wraps this August. USA Network has not yet renewed the show for the fifth season as of press time.
