Big Mouth season 3 is happening on Netflix, as the streaming giant renewed the adult animation series for another installment and also guaranteed another three additional seasons.
The renewal of Big Mouth season 3 - as well the upcoming three seasons - is part of a deal that Netflix has signed with Brutus Pink. This is the newly formed animated production company of the creative team behind the animated series; Jennifer Flackett, Mark Levin, Andrew Goldberg, and Nick Kroll.
Big Mouth has managed to depict everything teenagers go through from puberty, hormones, to sexual urge. The adult animation series tackled all these relevant issues among teens in the most realistic way, while at the same time being entertaining.
The series primarily follows the lives of best friends Nick Birch and Andrew Glouberman. Both of them wade through puberty's heavy currents, and along with their other friends, they deal with different topics such as homosexuality, and peer pressure, among other things.
Right now, the release date of Big Mouth season 3 was not yet revealed. But if we were to base on the premieres of the first and second season, then it's safe to say that the third installment would probably arrive in September or October 2019.
As for the cast, Kroll will be back voicing Nick, while John Mulaney as Andrew. Aside from voicing Nick, Kroll also voices other characters including intense popular girl Lola, old and decrepit hormone monster Rick, incompetent gym teacher Coach Steve, and Nick's inappropriate Hormone Monster Maurice. Mulaney, on the other hand, voices Detective Florez, Babe the Blue Ox, Grandpa Andrew, and Mint.
Jessi Klein is the voice behind Jessi Glaser, one of Nick's and Andrews friends. She's been trying to deal with her emotions and hormones, especially after she found out her mother is cheated on her father with another woman.
Jenny Slate voices Missy Foreman-Greenwald, a nerdy and kind friend who wants to spread the message of loving oneself unconditionally. Meanwhile, Maya Rudolph voices many characters such as ghosts of Elizabeth Taylor and Whitney Houston, the Hormone Monstress, and Nick's mother.
The plot of Big Mouth season 3 was not yet revealed as well, but it would probably still follow Nick and Andrew, along with their family and friends, dealing with several aspects of the human experience. The adult animation series mostly focuses on teenagers, showing how it's like dealing with puberty overnight and how it feels being a late bloomer.
Big Mouth is reportedly based on the childhood of creators Kroll and Goldberg, who grew up together and faced similar issues that their animation namesakes do on the series, and other characters are reportedly the people whom they grew up with. Kroll and Goldberg also serve as writers and executive producers on the program.
