Veteran NBA player Michael Beasley seems imminently headed to the Chinese Basketball Association once again with no takers this summer. The 30-year-old has reportedly gotten a $5 million offer to return to China, a place where he has shown on several occasions that he can dominate.

Beasley, a former top overall NBA pick, has already had several stops in China. His first stint came in 2014 when he suited up for the Shanghai Sharks. Though he failed to lead his team to the CBA playoffs, Beasley starred in the CBA All-Star game that year, pouring in 59 points. He also had impressive numbers for the Sharks that season.

After a brief stint with the Miami Heat, the 6-foot-9 forward would return in 2015 with the Shandong Golden Tigers. Though he managed to help the team make the playoffs, it was again during the All-Star game where he blossomed. He copped the MVP award this time around.

Now, if the report of Jeff Goodman is to be believed, he is all set to make his third trip to the CBA. It was not mentioned which team he would be playing for as of this writing.

Beasley becomes the second player so far to be announced as heading to China. Just last week, it was announced that Lance Stephenson has agreed to suit up for the Liaoning Flying Leopards. Chris Haynes, citing sources, said that the 28-year-old cager agreed to a $4 million deal. It appears to be a better financial package for Stephenson who would have settled for a $2.3 million veterans minimum in the NBA.

As far as Beasley is concerned, it remains to be seen if this third coming would be another pit stop in his NBA career. While he has impressed some ballclubs with each CBA stint, it remains that he has struggled to carry that game brilliance in the NBA. His last team was the Lakers before the purple and gold decided to trade him to the Los Angeles Clippers for Mike Muscala. He would eventually be waived by the Clips thereafter.

Further making a CBA return plausible is the fact that he has been meted a five-game suspension by the NBA. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Beasley was penalized for violating the NBA's anti-drug policy. It was not mentioned if this would be a point for consideration in the CBA, assuming he does bring his act there soon.
