For almost eight years now, Last Man Standing has been standing still on air. While there were a few bumps along the way, specifically its cancellation from ABC after the sixth season, the dramedy series was still able to pull through -- thanks to Fox.

After its first season on the new network, it performed well, as per reports. And it is no wonder why Fox commissioned a new season for the show.

Just a few weeks before the seventh season finale, it has been announced that Last Man Standing Season 8 is already sealed. But, along with the good news, a change on its airing and premiere schedules have also been revealed.

According to Deadline, the new season will not arrive in its usual fall premiere. Instead, Fox has placed the series for an early 2020 release. And as it appears, it is pointed out that it might arrive in January.

Also, it has been stated that it will no longer air on its usual Friday slot. Preferably, the network has set every episode to drop on a Thursday night.

The reason behind the new changes in schedules is because Fox has been "ramping up" their animation lineup. They referred to it as their number one "comedy target." While there is not much negative feedback found on the fans' side, the news still got a few responses from the viewers.

A lot of people took it as bad news. Even so, many are still positive that Last Man Standing will still perform exceptionally. Besides, the series has been deemed as Fox's second most-watched and third highest-rated scripted material.

As for the new season's details and updates, no word has been heard yet from the network and the production. For all the fans and reporters know is that the upcoming season is already in the works as per TV Guide.

The same is also true for its plot and cast details. But while little has been shared about it, the fans are just glad to know that the Baxters will still return and continue to entertain its viewers every week.

Last Man Standing has already aired a total of 152 episodes in seven seasons. And earlier this year, they celebrated the series' 150th episode.

In terms of its viewership, the dramedy series has retained its "impressive" records with an average of 8 million viewers per episode. And considering that series started with 9 million viewers, this is a great figure for a show that has been on air for almost eight years now.
