Shameless season 10 is not yet arriving until this fall. But,+ there's good news about its casting. It was revealed that a former Saturday Night Live cast member would join the Showtime series with a recurring role.

As per a report, via Deadline, Saturday Night Live alum Rachel Dratch will have a recurring role in Shameless season 10. She's going to play the role of Paula, and her character was described as a "corrupt parole officer" for Ian (Cameron Monaghan). In the upcoming installment, Dratch's character will try to use Ian and other parolees to run an "elaborate insurance scam."

While this isn't good news for Ian, there's still hope for him getting out of prison. It would also be nice to see Mickey joining him, especially since Noel Fisher will reportedly return in a "major capacity" on Shameless season 10. Perhaps, the writers knew many viewers were disappointed with Fiona's (Emmy Rossum) departure. So, they need to find a way to compensate for that.

Also, Family Reunion actor Anthony Alabi is on board in the upcoming season, and he's going to portray the role of Mavar. He's described as an upstanding and clean-cut guy and a former college athlete who's now selling used cars, mentors local youth, and sings in the church choir.

Mavar will be a role model for Liam (Christian Isaiah) as the latter explores his racial identity outside the Gallaghers. With that in mind, Alabi's character could bring some positive changes within the series. That's very likely, especially since Liam was forced to spend most of his childhood around Frank (William H. Macy).

Shameless season 10 will pick up six months later, wherein Frank will use his leg injury to collect many prescription drugs, and his exploits lead him to an old friend, while the new matriarch of the Gallagher family is Debbie (Emma Kenney).

Lip (Jeremy Allen White) will explore his relationship with Tami (Kate Miner). And, lastly, since he finishes military school, Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) needs to decide what to do with his life, and the younger Gallagher heads back to the Southside.

Meanwhile, even though the upcoming season hasn't yet aired, there's great news about Shameless season 11. During the TCA Summer Press Tour, Showtime's entertainment head of the network Gary Levine teased "Shameless left in Shameless," which hints the likelihood of the eleventh season.

Shameless season 10 is set to premiere on Sunday, November 3, on Showtime.
