A lot is about to happen in This Is Us Season 4 as everyone has a story to tell. Series creator Dan Fogelman teased the first two episodes would be "major grounding points" for the series. However, it might also be "polarizing."

"I would say that there's a lot of secret new cast members who are going to be a big deal, coming up, so that's one part," he said, via CinemaBlend. "I would say there's going to be a big announcement or release about it at the end of this month."

In This Is Us Season 4, they put on little markers and stakes in the ground that will serve as a grounding point for the series' whole arc. It will begin in the first two episodes of the new season. Hence, it will be a big, bold, and potentially polarizing, but in the best possible way to start the fourth season.

So, what will happen in the new season? According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rebecca (Mandy Moore) is now ready to embrace her new life in California. She, now, moves closer to her youngest grandson, baby Jack, to help her daughter, Kate (Chrissy Metz).

However, Kate will need to work hard to focus on herself. It cannot be denied that Kate's new journey as a mother is the most significant task she takes. She will even find it harder to juggle her time between motherhood and her other priorities in life.

Chris Sullivan, who plays Toby Damon, revealed his character and Kate would need to put attention to their relationship. He explained every time a new child comes to the family; they become a different unit. So, things and relationships will change, as dynamics also shift.

Randall (Sterling K. Brown) will be so ready for his new responsibilities as a Philadelphia city councilman in This Is Us Season 4. In the previous season, Randall and Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) decided to move to Philadelphia so that they could be closer to his new job.

Also, despite the hullabaloos, Randal and Beth's relationship is once again on the solid ground. After they suffered the most challenging time in their romance in Season 3, Brown revealed the on-screen couple would be in a more real place come Season 4.

Lastly, Kevin (Justin Hartley) will be focusing on his sobriety in This Is Us Season 4 after his breakup with Zoe (Melanie Liburd). The two parted ways in the previous season after learning that Zoe had no plans to have her own family. Although left alone, Kevin would be dealing with the aftermath of his decisions when the show returns on Thursday, Sept. 24, at 9 p.m. on NBC.
