Call The Midwife Season 9 is happening! It's been almost half a year ever since Season 8 has ended its course on BBC One. But fortunately for the fans of the British period drama series, it has been already renewed for three more seasons. And this means that there will be three more Christmas special episodes as well.
In May of this year, BBC One announced that they had commissioned three more installments for the series. And they assured the fans that they would get to see the series until 2022. But, if in case that it will end in Season 11, no confirmations have been unveiled yet. For all the fans know, the show has a lot more stories to tell.
The Christmas special episode that will air this December is already done in terms of shooting and filming. So, rumors suggested that Call The Midwife Season 9 is in the works already and it will be aired in January 2020, as per Good Housekeeping.
But, while the series has already concluded its eighth season plot on its home network, BBC One, US clients of Netflix has yet to watch the whole Call The Midwife Season 8. As it happens, there are only two episodes available for the season on the said platform.
According to What's On Netflix, the remaining six episodes of the latest season may be added on the platform come the month of September. And this is a huge nod to the series' arrival schedule on Netflix.
Sadly for the UK clients of the same streaming platform, Call The Midwife is now two seasons behind. And it is highly likely that the seventh season will arrive on Netflix UK in the latter months of 2019. But even so, all seasons of the series are available for streaming on BBC iPlayer.
The case is quite different for Netflix Australia. Unfortunately, the series material has been removed from the platform recently. So, it is quite expected that Call The Midwife will no longer be available for the AU clients.
As for the new and upcoming season, there are no words yet that have been shared about its arrival on the streaming platform. And in consideration of the fact that the latest season is just about to arrive on Netflix US this year, then it might take a year or two before it premieres on the platform.
