According to Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, he is happy to stay at Lazio after the summer transfer with Manchester United did not push through. It can be recalled that the central midfielder of Lazio was hyped as a possible replacement for Paul Pogba who was also rumored to move to Real Madrid. The speculations went on and on until the deadline day.
The bosses at Manchester United were concerned that Paul Pogba's handler Zinedine Zidane would force the signing of the midfielder that will leave Manchester United short in the middle. Lazio was offered a £90million deal but it never went through. However, it appears that Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has already fixed his mind on staying at Lazio.
In his recent interview with Espresso, the Serbian national shared that he was happy that the transfer window closed as he concentrates on his performance and his team in Series A. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic said that the transfer window for the Premier League is already closed, so his story with Manchester United is already done. He also revealed that he was not annoyed by what was written about him in the papers because his mind is fixed on his preparations for the upcoming season.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic also admitted that he is where he is right now because of Lazio. He revealed that he did not think much about the transfer market or about what other people say about him. But, the Serbian national said that he is certain where his mind is and to whom he was contracted with.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is just one of the many names that were associated with Manchester United. Many believed that the team is also interested to ink a deal with Bruno Fernandes, the midfielder of Sporting Lisbon along with Newcastle's Sean Longstaff. The Old Trafford was also linked with a deadline day move for Christian Eriksen of Tottenham Spurs.
Despite Solskjaer's plan to totally overhaul his roster at Manchester United, the team just inked three summer deals. The Red Devils spent around £143m in total for inking a deal Leicester City's Harry Maguire, Daniel James of Swansea City, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka of Crystal Palace.
