A new FCC filing suggests that the Nintendo Switch might be getting SNES-style wireless controllers. If this is accurate, this would mean that the old school SNES games could be headed to the Switch online service where various original SNES titles are already live. The latest report aligns with the previous claim that Nintendo will do more hardware enhancements for its hybrid console.
The latest FCC filing was first reported by a member of Resetera who shared the information on the forum site. Over the years, Nintendo has created several business opportunities with its retro gaming titles and consoles. The NES Classic Edition gaming console was a phenomenal hit trailed by the SNES Classic, and it appears that the Nintendo Switch and its accompanying online service is getting the old games to bring in more players into the subscription services.
The leaker, who is also a member of the Resetera forums shared that he chose to receive alerts for any latest filing in the FCC ID by the Japanese console maker. And earlier today, he received the FCC filing which shows a diagram that resembles a SNES controller. The leaker shared that the filing is for the Model HAC-042, which means that it is intended for the Nintendo Switch.
The Resetera member also said that the FCC filing could be suggesting that Nintendo Switch users could be getting SNES virtual or online console soon alongside a Bluetooth controller. There aren't so many details from the FCC filing; however, it shows that the controller would have a Bluetooth that will allow users to wirelessly connect with the Nintendo Switch.

The controller based on the image could potentially have ZR and ZL buttons at the topmost part or it could also be a docking rail for a Joy-Con. This is not the first time that the Japanese gaming console maker has released a retro controller for the Nintendo Switch. It can be recalled that a year ago, Nintendo announced that it would develop wireless controllers for the hybrid console.
Also, the Japanese gaming console maker released a series of classic NES games for the Nintendo Switch such as "Kirby's Adventure," and "Super Mario Bros.2." the recent FCC filing may serve as additional evidence for the previous speculations that Super NES games will be added to Nintendo Switch Online, which at the moment is already offering a wide range of classic NES titles. This includes "Super Mario Kart," "The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past," "Pilot Wings," and "Super Mario World."
