The image that went viral recently was taken from Google Pixel 3a and not from Google Pixel 4. This is what the Google design engineer said about the photo that he posted on his Instagram account that sent the Internet abuzz. However, there is still reason to be excited about the upcoming Google Pixel 4.

Last Monday, the Internet got excited when Claude Zellweger, a previous HTX executive and currently the director of design at Google shared on his Instagram account an image of a photo that was captured using a device with 20x zoom. Although the post was vague, many immediately speculated that it could be teasing about the camera feature of Google Pixel 4. But, Zellweger, made a comment on his post clarifying that the image was captured using the Pixel 3a and not Pixel 4.

The Google director of design also shared that the trick was the right amount of zooming and cropping technique to achieve the said effect of the image. It can be recalled that the search engine giant already confirmed the existence of the Google Pixel 4. In fact, it officially revealed that it would have a Project Soli-based radar in front and dual rear cameras.

It was easy to assume the Zellweger's post could be another official release form the company given the company's previous revelations about Google Pixel 4. Although it was a bit of a letdown considering the hype it created among Pixel fans, the shot was still very impressive. Also, it underlines that if this is a possible feat that the Google Pixel 3a can achieve, the Google Pixel 4 might be able to produce much better shots considering that Google really invests on the camera feature of its flagship smartphones.

It also goes to show that Google Pixel 4 could have an enhanced zoom feature like the 20 times zoom that the Pixel 3A does not have. It could also be a primer or a teaser for what the Google Pixel 4 will feature when it finally releases. The quality of the photo also shows that it was taken at a 20 times zoom, which could mean that Google might use its software prowess to develop its 16 MP telephoto lens in order to achieve crisp photos even if it was taken from a zoomed shot.

Unless it was officially confirmed or said by the search engine giant, please take all leaks and speculations concerning Google Pixel 4 with a pinch of salt and with great skepticism.
