BLACKPINK is making a comeback, but, first, they are focusing their sights on Japan. After Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rose joined this year's roster of performers in the a-nation Japanese music festival in Osaka, YG Entertainment released the cover of their new album.
BLACKPINK will be releasing their new album with the Japanese version of their megahit Kill This Love. The girls looked fierce and fabulous in their new photo which was set in simple black and white, All Kpop.
The new album could be an indication that BLACKPINK is going to focus the last quarter of the year promoting in Japan ahead of their Your Area World Tour stop in three major Japanese domes.
Compared to their other concert venues, the Japan Domes are a tough challenge for any artist to fill, and only a handful of Kpop acts have managed to sell out their concerts in these venues.
BLACKPINK's first stop will be at the 55,000 seater Tokyo Dome Arena on December 4. They will make a stop at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka for a two-night concert on January 4 and 5. Kyocera Dome, like the Tokyo Dome Arena, seats 55,000 people per event so this means that Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rose will have to fill the seats for two straight nights.
Their final concert for the Your Area World Tour Japan leg is the Fukuoka Yahoo Auction Dome which holds a seating capacity of 47,500 fans. This will take place on February 22, 2020.
Apart from the soon to be released Kill This Love Japanese version, BLACKPINK also has several Japanese versions of their other hit songs as well. The group has performed DDU DU DDU DU, As If Its Your Last, Playing with Fire, Stay, Whistle and Boombayah for their Japanese fans in several previous events to a warm reception, BT reported.
Meanwhile, it is unsure when BLACKPINK will make a formal comeback, but fans remain hopeful that the YG artists will come out with their new music soon.
It has previously been reported that Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rose have been working quietly with Ariana Grande's producer Tommy Brown on their comeback track. Brown is the producer behind Grande's recent hits Thank You, Next and 7 Rings.
In a recent Instagram post, Brown confirmed that he was hanging out with BLACKPINK and even Ariana got in on some online interaction, asking to be photoshopped into the photo with Tommy and BLACKPINK, Soompi reported.
