If things fall into place, Jeremy Lin could be officially playing in the Chinese Basketball Association soon. It will all depend on how negotiations turn out with the 30-year-old reported in deep talks with the Beijing Ducks.

According to Sonx Xiang of Sportando, the American-Asian who recently won an NBA title with the Toronto Raptors, is in advanced negotiations with the ballclub. If the Beijing Ducks rings a bell, this is because it is the same team that is being coached by ex-NBA star Stephon Marbury. Starbury suited up for the Ducks for seven seasons.

With no takers up to this point, playing in the CBA could be the best alternative for Linsanity. He remains hopeful of getting a call from an NBA team where he could still be useful as a back-up guard. For now, he joins other NBA stars like Lance Stephenson strutting their wares in China with better pay.

Lin is currently doing his annual tour of Asia and was mobbed by questions regarding the NBA. At one event, the 30-year-old guard got emotional and went as far as saying that the league has given up on him. Aware that his statements may have been taken the wrong way, he would apologize if his words were taken in a different light.

There is no telling if Lin and the Ducks can reach an agreement soon. Should talks fall apart, he does have another option in line. Yahoo Sports said that Linsanity could possibly play alongside his brother Joseph for the Fubon Braves in Taiwan's Super Basketball League. It poses an intriguing alternative since the Braves won the title a month before Lin became the first Asian player to win an NBA title last season.

After starting the 2018-19 NBA season strong with the Atlanta Hawks, Lin found himself playing less with the Raptors. Taken in to back up starting guards such as Fred VanVleet, Lin hardly got to see action in Toronto. In fact, he is aware that he hardly helped in the championship run and eventually questions himself.

In the end, he was able to overcome all that and instead let the NBA championship fever sink in. Now that all of it is over, he ponders on his basketball future.

Aside from the CBA, there were preliminary reports that came out that Lin could be headed to Europe and play for CSKA Moscow. All that was eventually shut down when Russian Sports media revealed that no talks ever took place and interest waned because of his health condition, the South China Morning Post said.
