The Los Angeles Lakers have one roster spot open in light of the sudden injury to DeMarcus Cousins. Pundits feel that the purple and gold are scampering for a center to fill up the void left by Boogie but John Wall of the Washington Wizards feels otherwise. He thinks the Lakers should give Carmelo Anthony a look.

In a phone interview with Landon Buford, Agent Zero weighs in on where Anthony should end up. The Houston Rockets were mentioned as a possible destination but Wall feels it would be a disaster and not work out. Walls hints that with two ball-dominant stars (likely referring to James Harden and Russell Westbrook), Melo will end up as the third option at the least.

"I remember the reports named Houston as a possible destination for him to land. I said ‘Hell no’ don’t go there it is going a disaster and it is not going to work... go right back to a team that is going to make you again the third option is a disaster," said Wall.

Instead, the top pick of the 2010 NBA Draft feels Anthony could be of better use to the Lakers. He singles out how Los Angeles needs someone who can open up the floor. He may not be the main go-to-guy but he will have chances at taking over the offense - particularly the second unit.

"Melo needs to me in a position where the last five minutes of the game he is the go-to guy. If you are not the go-to guy what are you on the court for because don’t have any other skill to be used. You are a fourth-quarter last five-minute iso guy that is your skill."

Wall may have a case but it all depends on how well Anthony is willing to accept a different role. With a star-studded team, the Lakers have right now, he is best seen as someone who will come off the bench. It would be a sixth man role at best, NBC Sports reported.

So far, no team has come forward to talk with the 35-year-old all-star who remains in waiting. He was spotted recently working with Brooklyn Nets players, raising speculation that he could be in consideration to join Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant and DeAndre Jordan in New York. If not, he could be merely trying to keep himself into shape if some NBA team does take notice and discuss a potential NBA stint this coming 2019-20 season.
