The next stop of Jeremy Lin remains a mystery although the latest on that is a return to the Chinese Basketball Association. As of this writing, nothing has been confirmed, although it may be the lone option remaining. Either way, it could end up being the first step if he wants to return to the NBA.

After winning an NBA title with the Toronto Raptors, Lin found himself waiting for his next tour of duty. It has been quite some time now, and the American-Asian has not received a call. There were reports that a EuroLeague stint in the cards was possible until it was shot down by Russian media. It was revealed that CSKA Moscow was not really after the 30-year-old guard, and concerns were raised on his health.

As mentioned in a previous post, Lin is reportedly in talks with the Beijing Ducks. This is the same team which former NBA star Stephon Marbury is coaching after years of playing. Both sides have not come to terms, and Lin may have to explore further options. One suggested an alternative is a stint in the Super Basketball League. Linsanity could join his brother Joseph Lin with the Fubon Braves who won the title at about the same time the Raptors clinched the 2018-19 NBA title.

Based on these developments, it seems pretty clear that Lin could return to the NBA, but it will take time. He will need to take the long road back, rebuild himself, and make sure he stays healthy. Injuries have been a problem for Lin, a reason why he has been struggling to finish a full NBA season. One thing he could do is change his style of play and be more cautious, Fansided reported.

His daredevil ways are something to marvel at. But the fact that he is no longer getting any younger means he should play more carefully and avoid the physicality - particularly inside. He has an outside shot and can orchestrate plays. It is a change that several NBA players have made, especially when they go over 30.

It is a change that could take time. At 30, there is no doubt Lin can still get a call from NBA teams as a backup guard. With most teams now preparing for the 2019-20 NBA wars, Lin's chances of playing are growing dimmer by the day. All that could change through the course of the coming regular season when teams realize they could do better with a tested veteran. Lin fits that perfectly but needs to play the dreaded waiting game for now.
