After a wild NBA offseason, things have somehow simmered down. There are still players on the radar although no major movement is expected to take place before the 2019-20 NBA wars. There are trades expected to happen before the February deadline if teams find the need.
One player who plagued NBA trade rumors this summer is Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards. Along with John Wall, they were two big names retained despite the sudden decision of team management to make all players available for trade. The third overall pick of the 2012 NBA Draft was offered a three-year $111 million extension but has not committed to a long-term sting with the Wizards, the Miami Herald said.
Beal is weighing his options and may want to weigh his options. The Miami Heat are hot on his trail and there is a growing belief that is where he will end up by 2021. That is unless the Wizards can work out a trade involving the 26-year-old guard. There are complications for such a scenario where other players and money matters will play a key role.
One player who could be in the middle of it all is Wall. In another report, the Heat are reportedly willing to wait on the 28-year-old if he is packaged together with Beal. Looking at their combine contracts, the Heat could address this by finally ridding themselves of multiple players owning expensive deals. Goran Dragic, James Johnson, and Dion Waiters lead the list although the Wizards may want some future picks as well.
The Heat feel that they can still put Wall to good use and pairing him with Beal should create an immediate impact on Miami's backcourt. It will be among the hot topics for discussion this coming NBA season with other teams entering the fray like the Los Angeles Clippers. Beal has gained interest from multiple teams although the favorite to land him appears to be the Heat.
With Wall out, Beal is expected to be the leader for the Wizards this 2019-20 NBA season. And if the past year is any indication, it seems he is ready for the role and wants to play regardless if they are doing good or not. That competitive spirit alone is expected to further endear him to multiple NBA teams - potentially bad news for the Miami Heat if some team beats them to him.
